Sea Turtles: Melbourne Beach is home to many threatened and endangered sea turtles. The Sea Turtle Preservation Society is comprised of volunteers who are dedicated to “helping sea turtles survive.” They coordinate sea turtle walks, beach clean-ups, and educational walks. The Preservation Society also operates a Sea Turtle House educational center.
Melbourne Beach Pier: This famous, 600 foot long pier is a historic landmark located in Rykman Park. It was built in 1889 and added to the U.S. National Register of HIstoric Places in 1984. Today, it’s a popular fishing destination. Cook your daily catch on our Big Green Egg!
Bird Sanctuary: The Town Council declared the town as a bird sanctuary in 1975 as an effort to preserve their wildlife and remain as natural and unspoiled slice of paradise as possible.
